Lenovo Y70 Touch Gaming LaptopI love the Lenovo Y70 Touch laptop for obvious reasons because its a mean machine. However, when the first one arrived, the screen did nothing at all and I had to order a replacement and return it. The second unit works perfectly and Amazon was amazing with the returns process. 4 stars only because of the hassle. I ordered it with one day shipping because my old computer broke down and I really needed a new one the next day, which was a Friday. Because of the returns process, I didn't have a laptop that worked until Monday. Read the full Lenovo Y70 Touch Review

Lenovo-Yoga-3-pro-backLenovo Yoga 3 ProLOVE THIS LAPTOP!! I received my new Lenovo Yoga 3 laptop yesterday. I placed my order through as I wanted the Tangerine color. I must be one of the very first to own this gem as this product was just released into the market end of October. My last laptop was a Dell with a 17" screen. I never wanted anything smaller than a 17". Last year, Thanksgiving night, I saw the Lenovo Yoga 2 in the store and fell in love with it. I loved how slim/compact it was, how adjustable the screen is, and how light it is. My Dell laptop screen started to break apart - time to shop. What perfect timing! I discovered the Lenovo 3 was coming out. At the same time, I was also having problems viewing Go Pro videos on my Dell laptop. They were choppy. I was told my processor wasn't fast enough. I wasn't sure if this laptop was going to work. I called up Go Pro and they seemed to think I was ok. It works beautifully. Thought I'd mention in case anyone else ran into this scenario. asus-g751-backASUS G751The laptop is beautiful, and the keyboard lighting is something to be proud of. It's effective and more importantly it lights up pretty damn well, not too bright to be annoying like other laptops. It also nicely turns off on its own after three or four minutes of idle time which is pretty great. Its extremely quiet and even after running 3D modeling programs, it was still very quiet. It has never gotten hot, only slightly lukewarm.

The touchpad is absolutely amazing and has a very good click. Not sure why, it just feels very comfortable. Truly bizarre. The laptop is extremely fast and powerful. I have not gamed with this yet but I will update the review once I do. Read the full ASUS G751 Review

Dell Laptops Are Very Popular

As you check out our Laptop Reviews site, you will find that our style of conducting reviews is somewhat different than just about any other site. What we do is take the laptop reviews of the most respected sites online and compare that information to the reviews that are submitted by verified purchasers of specific laptop computer models on Meaning they have actually bought that specific laptop and are kind enough to go back to the Amazon site and tell the world what they think of the laptop. In my opinion, those are the most dependable reviews you can get. It’s long been said that there is one side of the story, another side of the story, and somewhere in the middle lies the truth. We are here to find out what the real deal is, so we look in the middle.

When you have something one reports in their review in one hand, and the testimonial of someone that’s actually paid for the product in the other, putting them together is how you can go about getting the truth. That’s precisely the way we prefer to approach our laptop reviews.

We know that a lot of review sites earn commissions when you click on a link from their site and purchase a product, so that can sometimes cause these sites to be a little less than completely forthcoming in their reviews of those products. Why? Because they want to encourage you to buy so they tend to skip over the negative aspects of the products that they are reviewing. Now, being perfectly transparent with you, is also set up to earn a commission. If you click on a link to Amazon from this site and purchase a product, we will earn a small commission and that will help us to pay for our expenses to keep this site running. One of the differences between our site and some of the other Laptop Computer Reviews sites is that we are telling you, right here on the home page, that we will make money if you click on a link, go to Amazon and make a purchase. This way you know up front and we can promise you that our reviews are going to include the good stuff as well as the bad.

Alienware 18 Is One Of The Best Gaming Laptops

We are also attempting to make this as comprehensive of a laptop review site as we can, covering all makes and models of laptops, while making sure that our site is super-easy to navigate so that you may easily find what you’re looking for. For instance, the first set of reviews in the table above consists of our Latest Laptop Reviews (inspired by Amazon’s Newest and Most Popular Laptops) and, if you continue up above that list, on the navigation menu bar, you will see links to many different reviews by brand name. ASUS Laptop Reviews, Dell Laptop Reviews, HP Laptop Reviews, Lenovo Laptop Reviews, Samsung Laptop Reviews, and Toshiba Laptop Reviews are the brands we have reviewed the most so far, so that’s allowed us to create a comparison table for you. Even though Macbook Reviews are, to us, the absolute cream of the crop when it comes to portable computer manufacturing, there are literally dozens of models being produced by an ever-increasing number of companies and the gap is getting closed weekly.

There are a few oddball reviews here and there, by brand names that are not represented on the home page of our site. We have most recently completed a series of Acer Laptop Reviews that you can check out now.

We have also developed a list of the best gaming laptops, Tablet Reviews, Chromebook Reviews and have developed a fairly decent amount of reviews of various laptop accessories that cover just about every accessory you will ever need.

With that introduction out of the way, I want to state that the laptop industry changes frequently and, as a result, our list of the Best Laptops will change just as frequently. We will constantly be on the lookout for the latest and greatest updates from all of your favorite laptop computer brand names.

While shopping for laptops take the time to do your homework first. Read the reviews, speak with the associates at the various electronics stores that you go to and ask them what computers they use (most times you will get an honest opinion) and take your time. The world of laptop computers is so big and seems to be getting bigger and bigger every day. Be sure that you take your time a choose the one that fits your needs best. If you need any additional guidance in your quest for the perfect laptop, please check out out Laptop Computer Buying Guide.

Three Things To Consider When Looking For The Best Laptops

1. Avoid buying too big of a laptop

Image of a Macbook pro with retina display at 45 degree angle

Apple’s Macbook Pro With Retina Display

There was a time, not all that long ago, that spending $1,000 or more on a laptop computer was considered to be a bargain for budget laptops. These days, paying that much money for a laptop is thought of as a premium price. Fortunately for consumers, there is only one company that is able to get away with charging more for their laptops than that and that’s Apple. So if you are looking through this site, reading all of the laptop reviews we have, you can relax knowing that you can buy an outstanding laptop for as little as $400-$800.

That’s a starting price for some really solid laptops that also have nice designs and are high performance. Many come with Intel Core i5 CPUs and touch screens in slim, fairly attractive bodies, with 128GB SSD hard drives in that price range — which is more than enough for a majority of users, unless you intend to edit a ton of HD video or play very high-end PC games.

Basically, consumers have been purchasing too big of a laptop for a long time. The short time of the $300 Netbooks took them too far in the opposite direction, and now we’ve eased into settling into a comfortable medium. Touch screens and hybrids have increased average prices up a tad, although $999 or less can still buy you an outstanding brand name laptop or hybrid.

2. Consider Losing Weight

The first question I want answered when someone says, “What kind of laptop should I buy?” is this: How often do you think you will need to lug that thing around with you?

The answer to that will determine what screen size your laptop should be, which really helps to determine the system size and weight. Frequent traveling says a lightweight 13-inch ultrabook (similar to theMacBook Air). Making a surprising return to prominence are ultraportable laptops with 11.6-inch screens, which includes several recent 11-inch hybrids and Windows tablets, where you might only have to take the screen with you and you can just leave the keyboard base at the office or at home.

More typical midsize laptops, like the 15-inch model most likely sitting on top of your desk as we speak, are seriously not much fun to carry around more than twice a week or so.

Finally, if you’re certain you’re never going to want to carry your laptop along with you, or at best only once in a great while, then a massive 17-inch or larger desktop replacement is a sensible choice. Bear in mind that the majority of these huge laptops won’t be able to be run for too long away without the aid of a power outlet, and even fewer have touch screens.

3. Design Of The Times

Image of iPad Air

Apple’s iPad Air Is Ranked Best Tablet

If there’s any single thing we’ve discovered while benchmarking and testing hundreds of laptops, it’s that beneath the hood, a boatload of these machines are extremely similar. I will even go so far as to say, with the majority of laptops, they are most likely built from the same stock pool of CPUs, hard drives, RAM, and video cards, it’s exceptionally similar to morphing into a commodity product.

This is where design comes in. If the majority of laptops within a certain class, and with components that are very similar, are going to run the same, then the look and feel is really going to tug you over toward one type over another.

You can go so far as to think about the look of your laptop as an extension as your personality. You might lug it around with you all day, or perhaps across the entire country. You send out personal and business e-mails from it, store some very personal photos and documents, and connect with people on social networks while using it.

Just like with any other personal accessory, like a coat or a pair of sneakers, you should select a laptop with a style and design that is fit for you personally, while making sure that the keyboard and touch pad are comfortable for you to use. That’s why Apple gets away with charging so much — the components on the inside inside of MacBooks are not entirely different from other laptops (although the operating system is much different), but the human interface tools are amazing, and the design is pretty much what everyone thinks a typical laptop should look like.

The present trend of the thin ultrabooks proves this and backs up that statement, as well as the fanfare that high-design laptops like the Samsung Ativ 9 or Asus Transformer Book always seem to generate.

A laptop is a hefty investment that you’ll most likely have to deal with each day. If it comes down to picking between a design you think is hot and a small difference in specifications, I’ll remind you that mostly all mainstream laptops have more than enough power to complete everyday computing tasks, so a great design is the way to go.

At any rate, finding adequate laptop reviews that go into detail is really the key to getting the best deal you can find.
